Please read this before signing up for any PADI Course
medical requirements
If you intend to take any PADI course with us, please read the following Medical Questionnaire. If you can answer "NO" to all 10 questions on page 1 then you are fine to take a diving course and can complete the form when you reach Perhentian.
If you answer "YES" to any of the questions on this medical form, depending on the question, you might need clearance from a physician prior to arriving for the course. In this case the physician must tick the box on page 3 of the medical form that says "Approved- I find no medical conditions that I consider incompatible with recreational scuba diving or freediving" and they must stamp it.
You should print out the form and bring it to the physician to fill out.

swimming requirements (for padi open Water course)
The PADI Open Water Diver Course requires you to be able to float or tread water for 10 minutes and to swim 200m OR snorkel 300m (with mask and fins). There is NO time requirement to complete the swim or snorkel.
If you are not able to complete the swim/snorkel but you can pass the float test, you can get certified as a PADI Scuba Diver.
If you cannot complete either the float or swim requirements you can always participate in the PADI Discover Scuba Diving Program.
Ideally you would want an Open Water Certification so if possible you can take measures to ensure you can meet the swim and float requirements before arriving.
